We ALL know that “gay marriage” is NOT a civil rights issue. If it was, the answer would be clear that extending same-sex couples the same rights, benefits and ramifications of being in a union as other married straight couples is the OBVIOUS answer.
If the benefits and rights of civil unions are the same as for state (federal) marriage unions than why can’t we just call ALL of em CIVIL UNIONS!? Let’s push that, huh.
