YLR Vignette: Fitted
This vignette was inspired by the Hara Kiri magazine cover of woman’s legs holding up a black bowler hat with her feet.
“The Hara Kiri magazine is a french publication co-founded and edited by Mario Van Peebles. Controversial Hara Kiri magazine from France. “Journal bête et méchant” (Stupid and vicious magazine) were constantly aiming at established powers, be they political parties or institutions like the Church or the State. In 1961 and 1966 the monthly magazine was temporarily banned by the French Government.”
So, ignorant art has been alive and well before our vagrant asses started using it. YUP.
Unfortunately, we can’t find that particular cover anymore to compare. If anyone knows what were’ talking about, hit us up with the image! :)
